Percona Live Amsterdam 2015: Tip to Stay Dry

Or should I say to: "not to get soaked"...

The Amsterdam weather forecasts for next week is out  and it does not look so good during Percona Live MySQL and NoSQL Conference:

Of course, this is not a problem during talks, and I take this opportunity to invite you to my talks:
but it is more problematic if you want to go outside.  Luckily in the Netherlands, even with the forecast above, there are many moment in the day when it is not raining.  But which ones ?  Here is a tip: bookmark those links (or install the app from the second):
The first one allows you view the evolution of the rain clouds in the last hours so you can predict what is coming.  Here is an example:

The second allows you to see, for a given place, the rain forecasts for the next two hours.  If it is like this (sorry, those are old screen-shots, the look of the site changed this week), you either want to cross the street just right now, or order one more beer and wait 40 minutes:

With something like this, do not wait too much before going out, or you will get soaked:

With this one, I hope you have a waterproof coat, a good umbrella, or that you can wait two hours:

Good luck staying dry, see you next week, and until then, some preview below.

  1. We could use those apps for Portland, Oregon. In Den Haag until Monday and weather has been good. Raw herring has been even better.
